LOVE LETTER #22

The expression “rise above” is so true. I have a magic ritual that I perform to do just that. It’s very simple. It’s not complicated, it’s not anything to do with the occult, or yoga, or meditation or even levitation (which is usually the privilege of studio heads and people that have retained their popularity).Find the highest point of the city. It could be on a hike… for me in Los Angeles, it’s at the top of Coldwater Canyon. I hike up to the top, look down over the city, and I feel like the Emperor of the Universe. I can see clearly now. As far as the eye can see. Nobody is behind me, nobody is in front of me, it’s just me looking out over the sacred space. I don’t feel superior. What I do feel is free, having risen above the fray. All the petty squabbles and all the unnecessary resentments disappear into the horizon. I can see things for what they really are.

There’s an old saying, “Don’t sweat the small stuff.” Well, I’ve got a new one for you… don’t sweat the big stuff either! Rise above.

I wanted to actually show you what I’m talking about this week. Leave a comment on YouTube and tell me where you’re at and how you rise above! CLICK HERE for my point of view… and feel free to share!

Pick up the November 2014 issue of Playboy to read an interview with yours truly… fully clothed, I might add! It’s a very important piece on drugs in Hollwood by Neal Gabler, titled “Hollywood High.”
